Hachette New Zealand is delighted to announce they will now be known as Hachette Aotearoa New Zealand.

Hachette Aotearoa New Zealand acknowledges the whakapapa of the country we live in and the groundswell of support for using te reo Māori in our everyday lives.

Hachette Aotearoa New Zealand Managing Director Mel Winder says:
“New Zealand’s move towards embracing te ao Māori and acknowledging our cultural heritage means the name change to Hachette Aotearoa New Zealand was a natural development”.

Mel Winder says she is thrilled to see the way te reo Māori and tikanga are represented in the everyday language of our country and “it is an exciting and important new direction that Hachette Aotearoa New Zealand is proud to be undertaking.”

The change in company name is supported with a new logo which will be included on all of Hachette Aotearoa New Zealand’s locally published books.
