    Adrian Goldsworthy has a doctorate from Oxford University. His first book, THE ROMAN ARMY AT WAR, was recognised by John Keegan, the general Editor of THE HISTORY OF WARFARE, as an exceptionally impressive work, original in treatment and impressive in style.
