Karen Comer
Karen Comer is a freelance editor - her projects include the children's art magazine BIG and self-published titles (fiction and non-fiction) for Publish Central. She presents themed writing workshops to primary schools and holiday programs, focusing both on curriculum requirements and encouraging students' creativity. She has tutored students in English and creative writing from primary school up to Year 12. She facilitates weekly adult online writing groups for the Springfield retreat centre in Bowral, coordinating the submissions and providing feedback to encourage both motivation and momentum. She is a judge for the Australian Business Book Awards. Karen blogs about literary matters at www.karencomer.com.au. She was an editor in the educational department for Jacaranda, John Wiley and Sons, and holds an Honours degree in Literature at Melbourne University and an RMIT post-graduate degree in Editing and Publishing.
