Smithsonian National Zoo

One of Washington D.C.'s most popular tourist destinations, the Smithsonian National Zoological Park welcomes up to two million visitors a year to learn about the 2,000 animals representing 400 species. Nearly a quarter of the animals are members of endangered species, furthering the zoo's mission to provide leadership in animal care, science, education, and sustainability.
