How does the program work?

• Content creators in our community receive a 6-monthly highlight email featuring upcoming fiction, nonfiction adult titles, and children’s titles.
• You are then able to request books each month. The how-to guide will be shared with you once you are part of the Hachette Readers’ Society. When your books arrive, you’re welcome to read and share your thoughts.

How do I join?

Applications open twice a year, in February and August. Keep an eye on our social channels for announcements and links.

• In our first intake, we have 5 limited spots to be filled.
• Applications will be open from 24th August – 28th August

What are the requirements to be a part of The Hachette Readers Society?

To be eligible, you must:

• Love books!
• Have an active, public Instagram and/or TikTok account
• Complete our Creator Profile and Reporting annually
• Live in New Zealand

We will notify all successful applicants.

If I am already on your list, do I need to reapply?

• We need you to complete the paperwork, so we have your current information. The form is for reporting and programme administration purposes only. Existing members are not being reassessed or reapplying for their place in the community.

What if I don’t complete the form?

To keep it fair for everyone, we do need the form completed by the due date; otherwise, you will need to reapply during the next intake.

Can I apply if I live overseas?

Unfortunately, we only accept influencers who are based in New Zealand.

Why should I apply?

Being part of our content creator community gives you:

• The ability to request books
• Exclusive or early access to author events and exclusive coverage
• Other special experiences and opportunities

If I am not part of the community, can I still request a book?

Yes – if you have any creative or interesting content ideas, you can email [email protected] with your pitch, and we will get back to you.

Can I request books on NetGalley?

Yes, you’re welcome to request titles on NetGalley. Please note that approvals are handled by our Australian team. 

Can I sell/swap/trade a book?

No – if you see anyone selling, swapping or trading review copies and ARCs (Advanced Reader Copies), please let us know as soon as possible.
