Lewis Carroll was born Charles Lutwidge Dodgson in 1832 in Cheshire, England. He is most famous for writing the playfully inventive Alice s Adventures in Wonderland and its sequel, Through the Looking-Glass. He also lectured in mathematics at the University of Oxford.
