Libby Hathorn

Libby Hathorn is an award-winning Australian author of more than forty books for children. Her work has been translated into several languages and adapted for stage and screen. She was awarded a Centenary Medal in 2001 for her contribution to children s literature and, more recently, her CDROM Weirdstop won an AIMIA Award (Australian Interactive Media Industry Awards) in 2004 as Best Children s Product of 2003. Her picture book, The River, set in China, won the Society of Women Writers biennial award for younger readers in 2003, and Over the Moon, 2004, and The Great Big Animal Ask, 2005, were both CBCA Notable Books. Libby s other novels for young adults include the ever-popular and best-selling Thunderwith, The Blue Dress and Volcano Boy. Libby travels widely, talking about her work and Australian literature, and is currently residing in Sydney.
