Summer 2025. Desperately seeking a fresh start, Amy and her mother, Claire, arrive in the picturesque village of Hinxford Magna. It's the place where Claire lived happily as a teen - until her older sister, Louise, vanished without trace, and everything fell apart. With a family cottage left to Claire as the one safe haven from her controlling ex, Amy and Claire are determined to try and make new memories here.

But the tranquil village sits in the shadow of Hinxford Court, a stately manor house whose history is steeped in tragedy. And when Amy sees a young man with blazing blue eyes through the window of the house, he seems to vanish without trace. Could they really be living in a ghost town?

Summer 1985. 18-year-old Louise is working at the local pub when a young man passes her a note: he is being held captive at Hinxford Court and needs her help. He claims to be Jack Greenwood who, Louise discovers, is one of a group of evacuee children who tragically died in the fire up at the farm behind the house - in 1943. If Louise helps him, she could uncover what really happened then - but risk everything in the process.

With things getting increasingly strange, Amy realises that the secrets of Hinxford Court are far closer to home than she could have imagined. If she can't make sense of the past, her family might not have a future...
