George Washington

George Washington was born on February 22, 1732, in Virginia. Early in his life he served as a surveyor and later as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Virginia Colonial Militia during the French & Indian War. After serving as the Commander-in Chief of the Continental Army in the American Revolutionary War, he was elected the first president of the United States.
